The New Force Gurkhas: What is known about
The new Gurkha, while similar in design to the previous model with its boxy and upright appearance, has undergone a number of changes. The body shell is new, and the chassis has been upgraded to meet the most recent safety regulations. The new LED headlamps with Daytime Running Lamps, a revised grille, new bumpers, larger windows for rear passengers, and a wider rear windshield are among the notable styling updates over its predecessor. The new Gurkha, like its predecessor, will be equipped with a snorkel and will sport the 4x4x4 badge.
The cabin, too, is a step up from before, with more creature comforts such as front-facing captain seats at the rear, which replace the predecessor’s side-facing bench seats. The show car also featured a pair of jump seats in the back, though it’s unclear whether they’ll be standard equipment. The SUV displayed at the Auto Expo had a dual-tone interior, but according to a slew of teasers released by the company, the production-spec SUV will have a matte-black finished dashboard and center console.
Force Motors has verified its updated Gurkha feature list with a touchscreen infotainment system – the first for SUVs and the above-noted LED headlights, rear passenger armrests, rear wiper, and air conditioning.
Moreover, in an attempt to promote off-road sales, Force Motors also will provide a comprehensive list of customizing choices for the new Gurkha.

New Gurkha Force: 4WD and engine information
Force Motors stated at the Auto Expo that the new Gurkha will continue to transport an outdated 90hp, 260Nm, 2.6-liter, updated diesel engine to BS6 standards. The device comes with a manual five-speed transmission. The 140hp, 2.2-liter diesel engine of the outgoing Gurkha Extreme will never return, however.
As in the past, a four-wheel drive with front and back locking differentials – these last via levers between drivers and passengers on either side of the floor console.
Also the suspension from the outbound model with independent double hinge forward and 5-link, rigid axle rear configuration is planned to be maintained.
