The next generation New-gen Mahindra Scorpio lower variant spied testing outside Coimbatore. It tends to be a lower version fitted with a 6-speed manual transmission.
- The Scorpio has a better position than the XUV500. Yet it looks less like a butch than the new edition.
- The test mule was riding on a 17-inch steel rim.
- The interior was dark brown and black with beige upholstery.
- It doesn’t have the Mercedes-like instrument cluster of the current XUV500. It had a multicolored speedometer.
- In the second side, it had a bench seat. This particular test vehicle did not have a third row of seats, but the driver claimed it was a 7-seater vehicle.
- The car didn’t have a sunroof, but there seemed to be a clause to add one.

Mahindra starts testing the latest Scorpio ahead of its launch, which will take place in 2021. Fresh spy photos of the model posted on the network show a lower variation of the next model. As seen in the spy pictures, the 2021 Mahindra Scorpio is a pre-production device undergoing public road testing. The outside of the test-mule is absent from the production-ready parts, such as headlamps and tail lights. The type, which maintains the boxed profile, is said to be riding on 17-inch steel wheels.
A look inside the coming Mahindra Scorpio shows a dual-tone interior with a black and beige theme, the latter being used on the seats, the former covering the dashboard. The centre console features what appears like a touchscreen infotainment device concealed under the camouflage, with rotary AC knobs and buttons for different functions located below it.

The central console of the new Mahindra Scorpio, codenamed Z101, also consists of two bottle holders, a standard hand brake, and a six-speed manual transmission lever. An instrument console is a dual-pod unit with analog dials, although the four-spoke steering wheel is omitted from the steering-mounted controls. The second row of the car features a bench seat and while there is no third-row seat apparent, the test mule driver officially indicated that it will be a seven-seater. The organization has also made allowance for a sunroof that could be used in the production-ready edition.
The engine choices for the next-generation Mahindra Scorpio are expected to include the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine and the 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-oil engine. We expect a six-speed manual unit as standard and a six-speed automatic unit as an option. The model that rivals Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross may be called the Scorpio Sting “as reported by www.carwale.com”
