Hyundai Grand i10

Hyundai has revised the Grand i10 to conform with the BS6 emission requirements. The hatchback is also available in two versions: Magna and Sportz.

Hyundai Grand i10 is a premium hatchback priced between Rs 5.90 lakh and Rs 6.0 lakh (ex-showroom).

Specifications

The Hyundai Grand i10 is offered solely in a manual version of petrol. It is powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine generating 83PS of power and 113Nm of torque. A variant of CNG which produces 66PS and 98Nm is also on offer. The engine is built with a 5-speed manual transmission. While official estimates have not yet been revealed, we expect the i10 to deliver a fuel economy of about 18.9kmpl comparable to its predecessor BS4.

Variants

The Hyundai Grand i10 is offered in two versions: Magna and Sportz. CNG is only available at the base of the Magna trim level.

Hyundai sells the hatchback in four exterior colors: Fiery Red, Typhoon Silver, Titan Gray and Polar White.

Maruti Wagon R

Maruti Suzuki is selling accessory packages for the Festive Edition on three of its entry-level models: Alto, Celerio and WagonR. These kits are priced at Rs 25,490 (Alto), Rs 25,990 (Celerio) and Rs 29,990 (WagonR) and can be fitted to the dealership.

Maruti Suzuki launched BS6 Wagon R S-CNG in India. The LXI CNG and LXI (O) CNG versions now cost Rs 5.25 lakh and Rs 5.32 lakh respectively, up to Rs 19,000. Maruti cites a fuel economy of 32.52 km/kg. The continuity of CNG Wagon R in the BS6 period is part of the ‘Project Green Million’ carmaker initiative revealed at Auto Expo 2020.

Wagon R Specifications

The WagonR is powered by two BS6 gasoline engines. The first is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder 68PS and 90Nm engine. The other choice is a 1.2-liter four-cylinder mill with 83PS and 113Nm. Both engines are paired with an AMT and a manual gearbox.

Wagon R Variants

It is available in L, V and Z versions. Although the 1.0-liter engine will only be available in the L and V models, the 1.2-liter engine will only be available in the V and Z variants. If you want an AMT, you’re going to have to pick from the top two models. The CNG version is only available in the 1.0-liter engine and the L-base trim.

Volkswagen Polo

Volkswagen has officially started bookings for automatic Polo variants. You can book one through your nearest VW dealership or through the official website. The Polo TSI AT is available in the GT TSI cutting range and costs Rs 1.78 lakh more than the Highline Plus model, similarly stated. Driven by a 1.0-liter TSI petroleum engine of 110PS/175Nm. It’s paired with an automatic 6-speed torque converter.

Specifications

Volkswagen has shut down Polo’s 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre TSI engine. It is now available with a 1.0-liter TSI and a 1.0-liter MPI engine, both of which are BS6 compliant. The new 1.0-litre TSI engine produces 110PS and 175Nm of torque and is now coupled to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter. This means the Polo is no longer available with a 7-speed DSG. The 1.0-liter MPI engine is modernized in order to fulfil BS6 emission levels and produces 72PS and 96Nm. It comes with a manual transmission at 6 speeds. The Polo is 280 liters boot space. Land clearance 168mm. 

Variants

There are currently only four models available for the Polo: Trendline, Comfortline and Highline Plus for the 1.0-liter MPI, and Highline Plus and GT for the 1.0-liter TSI. There are seven paint choices on offer: Sugar White, Flash Red, Carbon Steel, Reflex Silver, Toffee Brown, Lapiz Blue, and Sunset Red.

Datsun India released the 2020 Redi-GO of Rs 2.83 Lakh (ex-showroom). The 2020 redi-GO gets its first big upgrade in the form of a facelift and comes with BS6-compliant engines. Prices are up to Rs 54,000 depending on the version you select. The redi-GO is the entry-level variant of Datsun in India.

Specifications

The facelifted redi-GO continues to run a 54PS 0.8-litre and 68PS PS 1.0-litre petrol engine with changes to satisfy BS6 emission specifications. Both engines are sold as standard with a 5-speed manual, while the 1.0-litre model can be fitted with an AMT. As for fuel economy, redi-GO 0.8 gives 20.71 kilometres per liter, 1.0-liter MT: 21.7 Km/l and 1.0-liter AMT: 22 Km/l. The Redi-GO is 3.435 mm long, 1.574 mm wide and 1.546 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2.435mm and a 222-litre boot.

Hyundai Aura

Hyundai India has launched an Aura sedan in India. Prices start at Rs 5.80 lakh and go up to Rs 9.23 lakh. Aura is available for a total of 12 trim levels and four BS6-compliant engine options: one diesel, one CNG and two petrol engines.

Aura highlights include an 8-inch infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, steering-mounted audio controls, a portable phone adapter, a semi-digital instrument panel, a multi-info monitor, and a keyless push-button start input. Security features include dual airbags, EBD ABS, rear parking alarms, rear vision cameras, high-speed alarms, and driver and co-driver warnings for seat belts.

Renault Triber

Renault is working on a more powerful Triber that will come with a new 1.0-liter turbo-oil engine. That’s the same engine found under the Magnite hood where it produces 100PS/160Nm. Renault is going to match this engine with a 5-speed manual and a CVT. The turbo-oil version is scheduled to enter the showrooms by mid-2021. It is expected to command a premium of about Rs 1 lakh over the existing Triber version priced from Rs 5.12 lakh to Rs 7.34 lakh (ex-showroom). The Renault Triber is the rival of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Datsun Go Plus.

Specifications

A BS6 compliant 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder “Energy” dual VVT gasoline engine powers the Renault Triber. It has a maximum power of 72PS and a maximum torques of 96Nm. The engine is coupled with a manual five-speed transmission with a requested 19kmpl mileage. The Triber lineup is recently joined by a 5-speed “Easy-R” AMT.

Variants

The Renault Triber is available in four versions: RXE, RXL, RTX and RXZ. Five paint choices are available: Moonlight Gray, Metal Mustard, Ice Cold White, Fiery Red, and Electric Blue.
