The legendary Land Rover Defender 90 3-door has been launched in India by a British Land Rover carmaker with prices starting at Rs. 76.57 lakh (ex-showroom). In late 2020, the five-door Defender 110 arrived in the country. Here is all you need to know about the all-new 90 Defender.
Land Rover Defender 90 Style
A few months ago, the Defender received the World Car Design Award of 2021. This road-focused SUV has a state-of-the-art design but still has the timeless qualities of previous generations.
Instead of using a traditional body-on-Frame architecture, a monocoque platform is commonly used in SUVs. It’s built on an off-road SUV, in spite of being built on a monocockey.
Land Rover seemed to have designed the Defender Spectrum with an essential four corners. The front end is characterized by the Defender lettering and the two parallel grill laths below. There are also all-LED headlights with daily running lights in crescent form. On the back, a replacement pipe is installed while quadruple taillights are installed.

Interior
The Defender is a luxurious SUV, not only an off-road vehicle. It has a multifunctional plush cabin. Land Rover now offers the Defender a fully digital cockpit, including a 12.3-inch driver display and ten-inch touchscreen infotainment. It is based on the latest connected car system from Land Rover, Pivi Pro.
The brand here offers a wide range of SUV trimming levels, which is why the entry-level variant is fabric-toped with leather upholstery for the chairs. Furthermore, this 3-door Defender 90, with the support of a front bench, can accommodate up to six passengers inside.
Features
The Defender 90 has a variety of features like six airbags, a panoramic sunroof, heated side mirrors, a side-view driver, a dual-zone temperature control unit, a 3D-view camera, ClearSight inside a back-view mirror, ClearSight ground view camera, all-wheel drive, and control of hill descent. It’s a king of the luxury off-road SUV league – the wading profundity. With a spinning spring and a massive 900mm suspension, the Defender 90 has a depth of 850 mm.
In addition, the three-door Defender 90 – Fuji Blu, Hakuba Blue, Tasman Blue, Santorini Black, Yulong White, or Pangea Green – is available in 10 external paints – Fuji white, Eiger grey, Silicone silver, and Carpathian gris.
Transmission and engine
In the three-door Defender 90, there are three different engine options. A 4-cylinder petrol engine is available in 1997cc producing 296bhp and 400Nm, and a 6-cylinder 2995cc torque producing 394bhp and 550nm. Land Rover offers a 2996cc 296bhp, 650Nm torque, straight, six engines.
