Volkswagen’s first SUV-coupé for the European market is the Volkswagen Taigo SUV coupe. As with the T-Cross, this crossover has a rakishly raked roof. In addition, the Volkswagen Taigun SUV for India and the Volkswagen Taigo SUV share a number of common components under the skin.

What is the 2021 Volkswagen Taigo?
As the Nivus in South America, the Taigo has been on sale there for over a year, and the Euro-spec model is largely unchanged, save for a few tweaks to bring it in line with the rest of the brand’s lineup. Models for the European market will be built in Pamplona, Spain, along with their MQB-A0 platform-sharing counterparts. The MQB A0 IN architecture, which will be used by the Taigun, is closely related to this platform’s design.

According to VW, the Taigo is meant to be perceived as a stylish, sporty SUV. It has a roofline that slopes down to a subtle spoiler at the rear, a new front end with standard LED headlights, contrasting wheel arch trim, and an extended rear overhang.

The Taigo’s interior is strikingly similar to the T-Cross and Polo, which are sold overseas. An all-digital gauge cluster and a multifunction steering wheel are included as standard equipment. As part of the Drive package, a number of driver aids are included, including predictive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance.

The Taigo is a front-wheel-drive, gasoline-powered vehicle. 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 95hp or 110hp, and 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 150hp are available. Taigo dimensions for the year 2021 from Volkswagen
As a result, the Taigo’s dimensions are comparable to those of the Skoda Kushaq sold in India, while it’s 2,566mm wheelbase is nearly identical to that of the Polo and T-Cross of the sixth generation. Luggage space is only marginally reduced compared to the T-straighter Cross’s back, at 438 liters with the seats up.
