The Grand Vitara SUV was just introduced by Maruti Suzuki. The brand’s top-of-the-line SUV in India will be the brand-new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Online leaks of its variant-by-variant costs suggest that it will be available for between Rs 9.50 lakh and Rs 18 lakh, ex-showroom, prior to its formal introduction. The Grand Vitara, a relative of the recently released Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, not only features hybrid powertrains but also reintroduces 4WD to this segment after the Renault Duster AWD was discontinued. It is now Maruti’s flagship vehicle in India and the second model to debut from the company’s impending SUV assault.
With a waiting time of up to five and a half months, reservations for the Grand Vitara, which are being taken for a pittance of Rs 11,000, have already surpassed 55,000 units.

For an additional Rs 16,000, the Grand Vitara’s highest Alpha, Zeta+, and Alpha+ trims offer dual-tone color options. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki Subscribe offers the SUV for sale for a monthly membership fee that begins at Rs. 27,000 per month.
With the strong-hybrid variants, Maruti Suzuki is providing a unique introductory package that includes an extended warranty of 5 years/1,000,000 miles (up from the regular 2 years/40,000 miles) and a real Nexa accessories kit, valued at more than Rs 67,000.
Importantly, as we have already mentioned, the Toyota Hyryder’s mild hybrid variants are Rs 20,000 more expensive than those of the Grand Vitara. The price of the powerful hybrid versions is Rs 50,000 higher than that of the Hyryder. This is due to the fact that Suzuki developed a mild hybrid system and Toyota developed a robust hybrid system, each brand using the pricing advantage of its own technology.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: engine
The Grand Vitara’s two engine choices, which it shares with the Hyryder, are the subject of the most discussion. The 1.5-liter K15C petrol mild-hybrid engine, which already powers a number of Maruti Suzuki cars, is connected to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Additionally, just like the Hyryder, the top-tier mild-hybrid manual variant is the only one having the AWD system. Maruti states that the manual AWD model gets 19.38 kpl, 20.58 kpl, and 21.11 kpl respectively.
The Grand Vitara is also equipped with a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine with 92 horsepower and an electric motor with 79 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque from Toyota. The 115-horsepower hybrid drivetrain has an e-CVT transmission paired with it. Maruti claims a 27.97 kpl efficiency for this engine.
Grand Vitara by Maruti Suzuki: external styling
The Grand Vitara differs the most from the Toyota Hyryder in terms of front design. The Grand Vitara’s front fascia features a large, chrome-lined hexagonal grille, three-point LED daytime running lamps, the main headlight cluster mounted on the bumper, and a significant amount of body cladding. It also borrows design cues from the Suzuki S-Cross sold abroad.
With stitched layered panels and door trimmings, the Grand Vitara mocks a dual-tone interior design theme. It features luxurious imitation leather on the door and upholstery and ambient lighting. It includes an entertainment system, a 7.1-inch driver digital dashboard, a head-up display, heated seats, Maruti Suzuki’s first panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree view camera, and a wireless charging pad. Suzuki Connect and Smart Play Pro+ are supported for intelligent connection and control.

The interior and characteristics of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
The color schemes are the sole discernible distinction between the interiors of the Grand Vitara and the Hyryder. Both use the same steering wheel as more modern Maruti Suzuki automobiles. The switchgear, touchscreen infotainment system, and instrument panel are all identical in both SUVs.
The Grand Vitara’s top-spec vehicles are equipped with a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a wireless charger, ambient lighting, linked car technology, ESP, a hill-hold assist, a tire pressure monitoring system, and six airbags.
