BMW India has set up a BMW 3 series Gran Limousine on January 21, 2021, following the introduction of the 2 Series Gran Coupe, X3 M, X5 M, and 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Shadow Model in a previous couple of months. In the new year, the LWB version of the standard 3 series marks the German luxury car maker’s first arrival on the domestic market.

At Auto Shanghai 2019 the Gran Limousine variant was first introduced and was to be produced for the Chinese market. Interestingly enough, Indian customers of a long-distance edition are also offered who don’t want to extend their budgets for the larger 5 series. The next model has an improvement of about 110mm in wheelbase than the 3 Series standard. The new length is 4,829mm, a 120 mm improvement relative to the original 4,709mm dimension. The extra dimensions make the interior of the luxury sedan even more spacious. Additional components, such as LED headlamps, 17″-inch LED tail lamps, and alloy wheels.

The enlarged cabin makes the rear seat passengers more room and luxury. The rear doors are even wider so that the seats can be reached quickly. Not to be confused with the BMW 3 Series GT, which was the Coupe, this one would be the sedan of the Bavarian carmaker put between the 3 Series and the 5 Series. The engine choices are planned to be shared with the 3 Series, 2.0-liter turbo petrol and a 2.0-liter turbo diesel capable of producing 255bhp and 188bhp respectively. The price of the Gran Limousine is estimated to be roughly Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh at a premium over the standard 3 Series. Upon sale, the Mercedes C-Class, Jaguar XE, and the new Audi A4 and Volvo S60 will contend.
