Jeep Wrangler assembled in India to launch on 15 March

Jeep Wrangler assembled in India and announced its plans to assemble Wrangler locally in India last year, and now its made-in-India Wrangler is set to be launched in India on 15 March. Instead of a fully built unit, the SUV is now available in the country as a fully downgrade system (CKD) (CBU).

The upcoming Jeep Wrangler Rubicon SUV in India will be a five-door model featuring a well-known design. The design of the Rubicon trademark will be complemented by design features and provisions such as the signature seven-lat grid, drop-down windshield, 18-inch alloy wheels, etc.

Jeep will assemble Wrangler in the country at its Ranjangaon facility and the company has also announced an investment of 180 crores in India in the local production of Wrangler.

Jeep India launched the 2020 Wrangler in the country at 63.94 lakh (ex-showroom) last year and the company also managed to sell the first batch of SUV only last year. After its local assembly, expect the overall price of the car to fall significantly.

The new Jeep Wrangler features a remodeled cabin space packing an updated dashboard with a centrally positioned 8.4-inch touchscreen navigation infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Some other features of the car include passive keyless entry, push-button start, and more. It gets a 5-seater cab layout featuring premium leather upholstery and contrasting white stitching.

Of course, the cabin will also be loaded with a lot of modern equipment. We believe that the latest Wrangler Rubicon will be offered by Jeep India with a new information system, a revised tool cluster, and a navigation system, among others. And how can we forget the high ground clearance, the high water forging capability, etc. to strengthen the SUV’s off-road capabilities?

There is a 2.0-liter high-power turbo petrol engine under the hood, which delivers 268 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. The new 8-speed automatic drive comes with this engine. The diff locks are supplied by a switch on the central console, which is electrically switched on.
