Porsche Motorsport is, like previous GT3 models, heavily involved in car development, this time in an attempt to transfer pure racing technology more consistently than ever before to a production model.
In this connection, the 992-gen GT3 is a traditionally high riveting, natural flat-six with 4.0 liters of power. The new model also has key aerodynamic and technological upgrades, which have made it possible to achieve a total of 20.8 km of the Nürburgring Nordschleife with an impressive 7 minutes lap time. The manual gearbox is also retained.
2021 Porsche 911 GT3 style and aerodynamics
The 911 GT3 has been extensively revised externally, mainly for improving aerodynamics and cooling. A new ‘swan neck’ rear wing, adapted from that of the 911 RSR racing car, is the most significant addition. It is manually adjustable and coupled with a prominent diffuser that can also be adjusted to the ‘Performance’ position to increase the downforce. Porsche maintains that this mode is reserved “strictly for circuit outings.”
Other visible changes over the 992-gen 911 standard include a deeper front stroke with cleaner sides and a big central intake and additional ‘nostril’ flow enhancer winders on the front cap. One optional GT3-specific addition is the exposed carbon-fiber roof.
There are a number of customization options available through the Porsche Exclusive range, including carbon mirror headlights, parking headlights, the redesigned rear light cluster, and the Red and Shark Blue Guards on the wheel edges.

2021 GT3 powertrain Porsche 911
The new GT3 is available only in a large-scale way, like all 992s. Although dimensions still must be disclosed, the car’s weight is claimed to be 1.418kg with 6- speed manual gearbox and 1.435kg with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic PDK despite the increase in width and additional tech over its predecessor.
In the model, the use of carbon fiber enhanced plastic (CFP) to produce the front cap, lightweight glass, ‘optimized’ disks, and cast steel rollers is listed next to a lighter rear seat cover, as the model is only approximately 5kg heavier than its smaller predecessor.
Moreover, the lightweight exhaust system, which saves 10kg, features adjustable flaps “infinitely” to ensure a “highly emotional sound experiment” while upholding the new noise and pollution regulations.
The natural 4.0-liter flat-six is tailored to the only GT3s and is, according to Porsche, “virtually unchanged” from the unit used for the last GT3 Cup.
It has a maximum speed of 510hp as the 911 Speedster and a 10-hp speed higher than the GT3 of 991.2-gen and can be reached at a peak speed of 320kph (318 kph with the PDK gearbox) – above the last GT3 RS. The engine is able to transform to a dizzying 9,000 rpm, as with old GT3s.
The 992 GT3 operates a dramatically revamped and race-inspired front suspension layout that uses two wishbones. The rear axle is in the meantime a tweaked, back-wheel steering multi-link system from Standard 992.
On the front axle the braking is 408mm and on the rear 380mm. Any optional carbon-ceramic system has still to be detailed. With 255/35 profile Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, the standard wheel options are at 20in on the front and 21in at the rear. The front wheels are at 315/ 30 points. With additional track-oriented Michelin Cup 2 R tires, the 911 GT3 can also be fitted.
2021 Interior Porsche 911 GT3
The new 911 GT3 shares almost all of its cabin architecture with ‘lesser’ 992s, albeit with curb weight-reducing measures such as the mandatory removal of rear seats and reduced sound deadening. However, the air conditioning can no longer be removed to further decrease weight.
Besides the free application of Alcantara trim, sports seating, and a half roller cage, the regular 992 models are also substantially modified: the gear-selector. The PDK fitted GT3 features a shifter, which is almost the same as the manual gearbox lever, instead of a shift-by-the-wire switch. Porsche GT Captain Andreas Preuninger defined the feature as instead of using paddle changes, he would prefer to switch via the center console.
The other major new cabin feature is the ‘track screen.’ When selected, this reduces the information displayed on the two digital displays located on either side of the central rev counter to the essential information needed on the track, such as tire pressure, oil pressure and temperature, water temperature, and fuel level. A motorsport-derived shift assistant provides colored bars for the display of revs on these screens, along with shifting light.
2021 Launch of Porsche 911 GT3 India
In India the previous-generation 911 GT3 was sold and, although very limited, we can expect the new generation model to come to this place. A launch time has still to be confirmed, however. When it comes, it will be like the Mercedes-AMG GT R, which has just been updated as read and reported by “www.autocarindia.com”.
