- Tata Altroz Turbo DCT automatic spied and latest updates
- Altroz Turbo to produce 110bhp of its 1.2-liter engine
- A seven-speed automatic DCT will be offered.
- Proposed to be released in India in early 2021
Tata Motors runs on an all-round turbocharged Tata Altroz Turbo DCT automatic. It’s not a mystery. The features and versions of the forthcoming model have also been unveiled via the RTO paper. While the Altroz Turbo comes with a manual gearbox, a spy shot reports that the carmaker will also offer an automatic version.
Tata Motors is about to launch Altroz Turbo in India, powered by a 1.2-liter Tata Nexon turbo oil engine. In addition to the Altroz turbo, Tata Motors will launch a luxury hatchback with an automatic transmission option. Recently, the latter was first spied out.

A seven-speed DCT assembly would be the automatic gearbox in the Altroz Turbo. Unlike the widely used dry-clutch units from Volkswagen and Hyundai, the Altroz Turbo DCT automatic would be a wet-clutch unit from the German component manufacturer Schaeffler. Previously, Tata Motors regarded Altroz as a DCT device supplied by a Punch-Powertrain.
The Altroz Turbo would possibly build up its 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine to a combined output of 110bhp and 150Nm. A five-speed manual, driving the front wheels, is standard in addition to the seven-speed DCT.
The statistics for Altroz are similar to that of the competitors like the Volkswagen Polo TSI. But, relative to the i20’s turbo-petrol motor it is 10PS short. According to reports, the DCT suppose to be available only in higher trims.
Tata Altroz Turbo DCT Style:
No improvements would be made to its style, but Tata could sell it in a sportier blue color that looks identical to the Tectonic Blue hue of Nexon. The turbo badge at the back means that you’re driving quicker than Altroz. The list of specifications and interiors are to be identical to the regular edition.

The production timetable for the Altroz Turbo is yet to be determined, but we expect it to hit the showrooms by early-2021. The addition of an automatic version would make the Altroz more attractive, as its competitors, Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Honda Jazz, can be fitted with a two-pedal system. We expect the Altroz Turbo to be rated at Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) “as read and report done by www.carwale.com”.
