Hyundai announced the entry of the Venue. It’s all new sub-compact SUV called Hyundai Venue in the country on 17th April at the New York Motor show. Hyundai will be entering the sub-4-metre SUV segment, which is currently going strong at more than 26000unit sales per month and has seen significant growth in India by 20%. Having revealed the car in India with its premiere at the New York Motor Show, the Venue makes its public debut though; Hyundai has revealed some rather intriguing details about the Venue. The Hyundai Venue car is important for the company in India that is because of the sheer competition of the segment cars in India and currently has segment there’s the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon, all of which give the Venue tough completion.

The manufacturer says that the compact SUV will be India’s first ever feature technology Smart connect ‘SUV featuring the advanced feature tech called ‘Hyundai Blue Link’ with the introduction of this global tech. To know the features of Hyundai Venue which will come equipped with 10 India-Specific features and the Hyundai BlueLink is Hyundai’s global technology with 33 safety features which will introduce in India, convenience and vehicle management features. Hyundai says that the BlueLink with this global tech will bring in a new era of connected vehicles in India.

A couple of years ago the Hyundai Venue was based on the Carlino concept that was showcased at the Auto Expo. We do see the quadrate proportions of the Carlino concept here. The design and styling of the Venue are inspired heavily from the automaker’s bigger offerings Santa Fe and the Palisade.

The venue currently is the best-selling SUV car in India which crossed over 75,000 bookings in just 4 months, since it has been launched.  Hyundai also launched the Made in India Venue in South Africa at a cost of Rs 309,000 (Rs 15.18 lakh). As per news 4 out of 5 stars the sold in Australia has scored in the Australian New Car Assessment program (ANCAP) crash test.

Hyundai Venue Features:

The exterior features of the SUV the company signature cascading grille with chrome detailing, new lower set projector headlamps with LED daytime running light,high mounted indicators and projector fog lamps. As the rear end, the SUV comes with new simple-looking LED taillamps with Zcluster patterns, a large venue badging at the centre and the brand and turbo badging on either end. The Venue comes with a new sporty look 16-inch alloys, large roof rails, and underbody cladding this profile which reminds us of the Creta. As in fact, the Hyundai Venue is closest to the Vitara Brezza in overall dimensions and has the same length and wheelbase. Dimensions wise the Hyundai Venue is very similar to its rivals, and in terms of width and height it’s one of smallest offerings at 1770mm and 1590 mm, respectively.

The Hyundai Venue’s cabin is designed with all new fresh looking design compared to other existing Hyundai cars. Unlike the duel tone of the Hyundai Venue treatment given to the global version. As the India-spec Hyundai Venue which comes with an all-black cabin with a new steering wheel and dashboard. Coming to the fit and finish on the SUV are as good as the Creta, and overall this five-seater cabin has a very upmarket feel to it.

In terms of Hyundai Venue features, the Venue which comes with the remote engine start/stop, remote climate control and also voice recognition, vehicle relationship management, and more. On the other side the comfort features include an electric sunroof, cruise control, the automatic climate control, also the rear AC vents, cornering lamps, a cooled glovebox, and a multi-functional steering wheel which comes with tilt adjustment function. The design and infotainment, the SUV gets a brand-new 8-inch floating touchscreen display, which is loaded with Apple Carplay, also comes with Android Auto, navigation and more. More to know as for the instrument console, it is a dual-pod unit that comes with a large MID unit in the centre.

Hyundai Venue Engine:

In Indian market the Hyundai Venue comes with two variants petrol and diesel engine option and all new 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engines.The Venue is powered by a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 83 hp and 115 Nm of torque, pair to a 5-speed manual transmission, a litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine.

HYUNDAI VENUE ENGINE

The turbo petrol exclusively gets an option 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine can churn out 82 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque, and it comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The other variant Hyundai comes with the 1.4-litre diesel motor, on the other hand, which offers 89 bhp and 220 Nm of peak torque and mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
