Tata Motors has introduced a new Kaziranga Edition of its entire SUV lineup, including the Punch, Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. These new editions receive exterior and interior updates, as well as new features.

What is Tata Kaziranga Edition SUVs?

At a recent IPL event, Tata unveiled the Punch Kaziranga Edition, which will be auctioned off to fans, with the proceeds benefiting conservation efforts at Assam’s Kaziranga National Park. Tata Kaziranga Edition SUVs are named after the Indian one-horned rhinoceros.

The first unit of the Tata Punch Kaziranga – IPL Special edition will be auctioned off, with the proceeds benefiting Kaziranga conservation efforts. The Punch Kaziranga edition, as the name suggests, is inspired by the Kaziranga national park in Assam and includes unique updates such as the Grassland Beige paint job, blacked-out Rhino logos on both front fenders, and multiple blacked-out elements across the body such as the ORVMs, wheels, and roof.

The Kaziranga Edition SUVs are finished on the outside in an exclusive Grassland Beige paint shade with contrasting blacked-out treatment for the roof, wheels, wing mirrors, and all other chrome trims. The SUVs also get a blacked-out rhino motif on the front fender, as well as special door scuff plates with ‘Kaziranga’ lettering. The rhino motif can also be found on the SUVs’ rear windscreens

The Kaziranga Edition SUVs have dual-tone schemes on the inside, with Earthy Beige leatherette upholstery and an all-black dashboard. The Nexon, Harrier, and Safari all have wood trim in the center of the dashboard, whereas the Punch has an Earthy beige tri-Arrow finish. The dual-tone black and bronze treatment extend to the door pads and seat upholstery. These four models’ front seat headrests also feature a silhouette of a one-horned rhinoceros.

Tata Kaziranga Edition SUVs: Specifications

The Punch gets Tata’s iRA connected car technology and an air purifier, while the Nexon gets ventilated front seats, an air purifier, and an auto-dimming IRVM.

In the meantime, the Harrier and Safari get an air purifier, iRA connected car technology, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, and ventilated front seats. The Safari will also have ventilated second-row seats, similar to the Gold Edition models.

Kaziranga edition

Tata Kaziranga Edition SUVs’ engines and transmissions

Because the Kaziranga Edition is merely cosmetic, all SUVs remain mechanically unchanged. This means that the Punch will retain its sole 86hp, 1.2-liter petrol engine; the Nexon will retain its 120hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, and 110hp, 1.5-liter diesel engines; and the Harrier and Safari will retain their 170hp, 2.0-liter diesel engines sourced from FCA. The gearbox options remain the same as the rest of the lineup.
