The facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has just been released in India, with prices starting at Rs 8.35 lakh (ex-showroom, India). While the differences between the updated Ertiga and the pre-facelift model are subtle, we compared the two vehicles to see what has changed.

The new and the old design of the Suzuki Ertiga
On the styling front, there is little to distinguish the Ertiga facelift from the older model, as the silhouette and overall proportions and looks have remained largely unchanged. The new front grille with embedded ‘winged’ chrome trim, dual-tone alloy wheels, and chrome garnish on the tailgate are the easiest ways to tell the refreshed Ertiga apart. Aside from these, Maruti has introduced two new colors: Splendid Silver and Dignity Brown, which join the previously available Auburn Red, Magma Grey, Arctic White, and Oxford Blue.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga New vs. used: interior and features
The interior of the Ertiga facelift retains the same dashboard design and overall cabin layout as the pre-facelift MPV. The dashboard now has a Metallic Teak faux wood finish, as well as new dual-tone seat upholstery.
Inside, the fully loaded ZXI+ trim gets a new 7.0-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, as well as ‘Suzuki Connect’ connected car tech with more than 40 features and a built-in voice assistant. Cruise control, automatic headlamps, a rear parking camera, electrically foldable ORVMs, air-cooled cupholders, and AC vents for all three rows are also included. There are also four airbags, ABS with EBD and BA, hill-hold assist, ESP, and ISOFIX mounts as standard.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga new vs. old: powertrains
The new 1.5-liter Dual Jet engine with start-stop technology produces 103hp and 136.8Nm, which is 2hp and 1.2Nm less than the outgoing 1.5 engine. This engine, as the name implies, employs two injectors per cylinder, which should make it punchier and more efficient. The Ertiga facelift is also the first Maruti Suzuki model in India to use the 1.5-liter DualJet engine, which is expected to be used by the brand’s other offerings in the future.

The new Ertiga also comes in a CNG variant with the same engine, though the output drops to 87hp and 121.5Nm when running on CNG and 100hp and 136Nm when running on petrol.
The Ertiga facelift, like the older model, comes standard with a 5-speed manual gearbox (with a claimed mileage of 20.51kpl), but the updated MPV has swapped out the old 4-speed Automatic torque converter for a new 6-speed unit with paddle shifters (with a claimed mileage of 20.30kpl). The Ertiga CNG is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission and is claimed to return 26.11km/kg.
