The BMW 5 series facelift of 2021, scheduled for 24 June 2021, is the next launch for India. After the launch in April of the BMW 6 Series GT, the car manufacturer started a row. This is the seventh generation of the luxury medium-sized sedan and the G-30 moniker has been around since its world debut in 2016. The car was launched in India in 2017 and made its worldwide debut in 2020.
The front of the 5-series now looks like the 3-series. The new BMW signature is L-shaped DRLs, while optional laser lighting option. A wider, larger front grille and a simpler design for the front bumper are also provided. Furthermore, the alloy wheels have a new look while the taillights have the same L-shaped 3D effect we saw on newer BMWs.

Finally, the rear bumper has been redesigned, and chromed exhaust surrounds have been added. The version for M-Sport was also redesigned to look a bit sharper. We expect M Sport and a more sedate outdoor design package, which depends on the power train chosen, to be in the Indian market.
The new 5 Series comes standard with the latest iDrive infotainment system. The 12.3-inch screen is now available as an option worldwide, as is the fully digital instrument cluster. Aside from that, there are more extensive climate controls, a new steering wheel, and slightly different dash materials. Significantly, wireless Android Auto is now available as an option, but based on other products in BMW India’s lineup, this could be standard fitment. International models will also receive a more comprehensive suite of driver assistance technology.

The 5 Series’ engine options remain unchanged but are now provided with 48V mild hybrid support. But this fuel-saving technology, as seen with the 6 GT, cannot travel to India. The 520d 2.0-liter diesel engine of 190 hp/400 Nm and the 530d inline 6 diesel of 290 hp/650 Nm should continue. The 530i produces 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol with 255 hp and 350 Nm.
Prices range between Rs 56 to 69 lakh for the present BMW 5 series (ex-showroom, Mumbai). This is expected to increase a Rs 1.5 to 2 lakh with the update. These five series will compete with the Audi A6, the Jaguar XF, and the Volvo S90 “as read and reported by www.firstpost.com”.
