Only a few weeks after its sister model, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the new Toyota Glanza has debuted in our market. The Glanza has cost Rs 6.39 lakh for the base E trim to Rs 9.69 lakh for the top-of-the-line S automatic trim (ex-showroom, India). For a small cost of Rs 11,000, Toyota began taking reservations for the new Glanza through its showrooms and website last week.

  • The new Glanza has a unique front design.
  • E, S, G, and V are the four trims available.
  • It has a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 90 horsepower.

Toyota Glanza exterior and interior design in 2022

The new Glanza (like its predecessor) shares a lot of design cues with the Baleno on which it is based. While the two models’ general proportions and shapes are nearly identical, Toyota has made a better effort to differentiate the two this time. The Glanza gets a redesigned grille inspired by the Camry, a sharper front bumper, and new headlights with simpler LED daytime running light graphics (the three-block DRLs are exclusive to the Baleno).

The interior style and layout are likewise comparable to the new Baleno, with a layered dashboard, free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, and similar steering wheel design. The black and beige colour palette featured throughout the cabin, which gives it an upmarket look, is the biggest modification on the interior.

Toyota Glanza 2022 variants and features

Unlike the original Glanza, which only came in G and V trims, the new Glanza comes in four trim levels: E, S, G, and V, which are remarkably comparable to the Baleno’s Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha trims. As a result, the new Glanza might start at a far lower price than before.

The top-spec Glanza comes with a head-up display (HUD), a 360-degree camera, a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, ‘Toyota i-Connect’ linked car tech, Six airbags, automatic climate control, tilt and telescopic steering.

The warranty coverage, which is three years/1,00,000 kilometres as standard and can be extended to five years/2,20,000 kilometres, is one area where Toyota intends to set the Glanza apart.

Engine possibilities for the Toyota Glanza in 2022

The new Glanza is driven by a 90hp, 113Nm 1.2-litre four-cylinder DualJet K12N petrol engine (same as the Baleno). A 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT automatic transmission are offered with the engine. This is also the first Toyota in India with an automatic transmission.
