Toyota Innova Hycross features a design influenced by SUVs.

The 2017 Toyota Innova has been given a more SUV-like design thanks to a large, upright grille, a high bonnet line, and body cladding all throughout. The bottom of the hexagonal grille is ringed by chrome, while the sides have wraparound LED headlamps. Massive horizontal Daylight Running Lamps that also double as turn indicators and matte silver inlays are featured on the bumpers.

While the front looks like an SUV, the profile clearly has an MPV shape. A substantial glasshouse, similar to that on the Crysta, is added to the Hycross, ensuring superb visibility for all three rows. Its back features a blacked-out rear bumper, a roof-mounted spoiler, and sizable LED taillights.

In terms of measurements, despite having the same height and ground clearance as the Crysta, the Hycross is 20mm longer, 20mm wider, and has a 100mm larger wheelbase.

Toyota Innova Hycross’s interior decor

The interior of the Hycross is radically different from that of the Crysta since it features a multi-layered dashboard with horizontal lines. What makes it stand out is the massive 10.1-inch floating touchscreen that reaches down to the stack of HVAC controls and rectangular AC vents.

The dashboard, adorned with soft-touch leather and metallic elements, is where the gear lever is housed. While the MPV’s less expensive models have black fabric seats, its more expensive models have a dual-tone brown and black interior design with dark chestnut leather seat upholstery.

List of features and versions for the Toyota Innova Hycross

The Toyota Hycross is available in five different configurations: G, GX, VX, ZX, and ZX (O). The top models have components like paddle shifters, ventilated front seats, a memory option for the driver’s seat, ambient lighting, and a motorized tailgate. A panoramic sunroof is also offered, which is a first for an Innova.

The 2017 Innova Hycross debuts Toyota’s ADAS with features like lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, and a pre-collision system.

known as Toyota Safety Sense technology. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, regular traction control, and ESP are additional safety features.

There are seven to eight seats available on the Innova Holy Cross. Two captain’s chairs with segment-first ottoman functionality divide the middle row’s seven seats. Bench seating is on the second and third rows of the 8-seat configuration on the opposite side. Toyota has provided every passenger with a three-point seatbelt.

Toyota Innova Hycross: drivetrain, powertrain, and fuel economy

The new Hycross is built on Toyota’s TNGA-C platform and has a monocoque chassis, unlike all prior generations of the Innova, which were supported by a ladder-frame architecture.

The Innova Hycross has powerful gasoline and hybrid engine options, but no diesel engine option. The Atkinson or Miller cycle is employed by the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, powerful hybrid powertrain to improve fuel economy. There is a 184-horsepower hybrid powertrain with an e-Drive transmission in use.

The similar 1,987 cc engine, which is not a hybrid, produces 172 horsepower and 205 Nm when coupled with a CVT gearbox. There are no variations of the Innova Hybrid with manual transmissions, only front-wheel drive. According to Toyota, the hybrid version will have a fuel economy rating of 23.24 kpl compared to the regularly aspirated model’s 16.13 kpl.

It should be noted that the non-hybrid powertrain is only provided in the base G and GX trims, while the stronger hybrids are the only ones offered in the higher VX, ZX, and ZX (O) trims.

Information on the Toyota Innova Hycross warranty

Toyota offers a three-year, 100,000-mile warranty that can be extended to five years, 2,20,000 miles. The carmaker also offers an eight-year, 1,60,000-kilometer warranty for the hybrid’s battery.

Toyota Innova Hycross rivals

Although it doesn’t have a direct rival, the 2017 Innova Hycross is priced similarly to three-row SUVs such as the Mahindra XUV700 and Scorpio N, the Hyundai Alcazar, the MG Hector Plus, and the Tata Safari. It will also face off against the Kia Carnival, which is anticipated to go on sale later the following year.
