Audi relaunched the Q7 in India today with the debut of the facelifted SUV. The Updated Audi Q7 has introductory pricing of Rs 79.99 lakh for the base Premium Plus and Rs 88.33 lakh for the Technology variant, both ex-showroom, India.
The Q7 is back after an almost two-year break, having been terminated in the run-up to the April 2020 BS6 emission standards. The facelifted Audi Q7 receives a new look on the outside, a completely redesigned inside, and, most crucially, becomes a petrol-only SUV.

2022 Audi Q7: what’s new on the outside?
Globally, the facelifted Q7 made its debut in June 2019. While the facelifted Q7 keeps its predecessor’s estate-like design, it is more modern and in line with newer Audi SUVs. It has a bigger, octagonal single-frame grille up front, flanked by new-look Matrix LED headlights and daytime running lamps.
A chrome strip runs the length of the hatch, and the taillights have been updated as well. The outward revisions include a revised front bumper with wider side air intakes and sharper creases, as well as a reworked rear bumper. The entire length has increased to 5,063mm, an increase of 11mm. Carrara White, Mythos Black, Navarra Blue, Samurai Grey, and Floret Silver are the five colour options offered for the new Q7.

Even more, changes are made internally to the facelifted Q7. The pre-facelift model’s single, free-standing screen has been replaced by Audi’s new twin-touchscreen MMI infotainment system, which is comparable to the larger Audi Q8. There are two colour schemes in the interior: Saiga Beige and Okapi Brown.
A 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system is now located on the upper half of the dashboard, with an 8.6-inch touchscreen for climate control located in the middle console. The Q7 retains Audi’s ‘Virtual Cockpit’ digital instrument cluster, however, it has been upgraded to the second-generation version. It seems like a current Audi, with gloss black dashboard detailing and loads of chrome and brushed aluminium. The Q7 retains its seven-seat arrangement, giving it an advantage over its competitors.
With a panoramic sunroof, four-zone temperature control, adjustable ambient lighting, a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, controlled front seats with memory function, The Q7 comes standard with electrically foldable third-row seats, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Audi also offers a back seat entertainment kit as an option on its accessories list. The Q7 comes with eight airbags, ESC, and Park Assist Plus with a 360-degree 3D surround camera, among other technological assistance, as well as lane-keeping assist with steering intervention.
The pre-facelift model had a severe flaw in that the spare tyre was fastened to one of the third-row seats, rendering it useless. Audi has overcome this problem by adopting run-flat tyres, which eliminate the requirement for a spare.

Audi Q7 facelift 2022: engine and transmission details
The Q7 facelift has a new 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine with 340hp and 500Nm, paired to an 8-speed automated transmission and driving all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro AWD system. When coasting, the engine has a 48V mild-hybrid system that allows it to be shut off for up to 40 seconds. The Q8 and A8 are also available in India with this engine. From zero to 100 kilometres per hour, Audi claims its sprint time is 5.9 seconds, with a top speed of 250 kilometres per hour.
Its 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine (40 TFSI) had 252hp and its 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine (45 TDI) had 249hp.The facelifted Q7, like its predecessor, is equipped with adaptive air suspension as standard equipment. Audi Drive Select is also included, offering seven different driving modes.
Audi Q7 facelift 2022: competitors
The redesigned Q7 will compete against Mercedes-GLE, Benz’s BMW’s X5, and Volvo’s XC90. It’s worth noting that only the Volvo XC90 is available in a seven-seater version, while the other two SUVs are only available in five-seater configurations “as read and reported by www.autocarindia.com”.
