Volvo S90 mild-hybrid:

Since 2015, the S90 has served as Volvo’s flagship luxury sedan, succeeding the S80. It has received a facelift for the 2021 model year, with minor exterior styling changes. These include a redesigned front bumper, a chrome bar beneath the centre mesh, a new grille design, and hidden tailpipes. Volvo has introduced the facelifted S90 in India with a single top-end ‘B5 Inscription’ variant. It is powered by a 2-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The engine generates a maximum output of 247bhp and 350Nm of torque.

The interior of the Volvo S90, on the other hand, has not changed. The 9-inch portrait-style infotainment touchscreen takes centre stage, as does Volvo’s Scandinavian design language. This system is based on Google OS and includes a multilingual assistant. The S90 also comes with a high-end 19-speaker 1400W Bowers and Wilkins surround-sound system. Volvo has reintroduced the BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) safety aid to India due to popular demand. This system flashes a warning light near the driver’s door mirror to warn the driver of oncoming traffic or people in blind spots.
