Nissan Magnite Launching Tomorrow in India, Expected Price Is Rs 5.25 Lakh

The Nissan Magnite is estimated to be price from Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, making it the most affordable SUV in the market.

Highlights:

  • To be sold in five versions: XE, XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Standard (O).
  • Customer test drives will commence tomorrow and deliveries are going to schedule from January 2021.
  • It would either have a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine or a 1.0-liter petrol-turbo unit.

The sub-4m SUVs available in India will have a new rival in the form of the Nissan Magnite that is going to introduce tomorrow. Nissan will sell the SUV sub-4m in five variants: XE, XL, XV, XV Premium, and XV Premium (O). Magnite bookings are available for Rs 11,000, while customer test drives start tomorrow and deliveries start in January 2021.

Nissan’s Magnite is going to be a petrol-only deal. It will feature either a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine (from the Triber) or a new 1.0-litre turbo-oil unit. The 1.0-liter naturally-aspirated will have the same performance as the Triber’s (72PS/96Nm) and will be fit to a 5-speed MT only. On the other hand, the latest 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine will be available with either a 5-speed MT or a CVT. Develops up to 100PS and 152Nm with the CVT while the torque output of the MT-equipped models is 160Nm. The Magnite will be the first SUV in the category to be fitted with a CVT transmission.

Design highlights of the new Nissan Magnite include L-shaped LED DRLs, large chrome-plated grids on either side, LED headlamps, LED fog lights, roof bars, dual-tone alloy wheels, puddle lamps, and squared wheel arches. Within, the model will receive an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Nissan Attach, engine start-stop switch, a fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, steering mounted buttons, and a rear armrest with cup holders and a tablet tray.

Price:

With the introduction of the Magnite, Nissan will be joining one of the most crowded SUV segments in India. It will clash with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza/Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and the upcoming Renault Kiger. Magnite is to estimate the price between Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom) as reported by “www.cardekho.com”.
