- The upgrade is available to current Nexon EV owners without cost.
- Multi-mode regeneration, cruise control, and iTPMS are among the new features.
The Tata Nexon EV Max is available in two primary variants: XZ+ and XZ+ LUX. Both are priced at Rs. 17.74 lakh and Rs. 18.74 lakh and include a 3.3 kW home charger as standard (ex-showroom, India). Tata does, however, also give customers the choice to upgrade to a 7.2 kW AC fast charger in exchange for an extra Rs 50,000.
The Nexon EV Max has a 40.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which is 33% more powerful than the vehicle with the regular range. The larger battery aids in delivering a 437 km range, as approved by ARAI (under standard testing conditions). The battery and motor are IP67 rated and have an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty.
A permanent magnet synchronous AC motor that produces roughly 141 horsepower and 250 Nm of peak torque powers the long-range variant. The Nexon EV Max has an electronically regulated top speed of 140 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in less than 9 seconds. A single-speed automatic transmission is included with the EV.
Along with the conventional 3.3 kW charger, the new Nexon EV Max has an optional 7.2 kW AC fast charger. Using a 15A plug point, the conventional charger will need about 15 hours to fully charge the battery. The AC rapid charger, on the other hand, needs roughly 6.5 hours to do the same task. Additionally, the Nexon EV Max enables DC fast-charging up to 50 kW and can fully charge the battery pack in 56 minutes.
Tata Motors is adding a Multi-Mode Regen function with the Nexon EV MAX to make it simple to modify the amount of regenerative braking using switches on the floor console. Customers have a choice of 4 regen settings, with Level 0 having no recuperative braking and Level 3 being the highest and facilitating single-pedal driving. The company has also included an easy-to-use feature: auto brake lamps that turn on when a particular level of regeneration is reached, alerting other drivers.
The new long-range Tata Nexon EV Max looks essentially the same as the regular-range variant. However, the Max range is the only place where the SUV is currently available in the new Intensi-Teal color. Additionally, the SUV is offered in the current Daytona Grey and Pristine White hues, and all options have dual-tone color schemes by default. The Nexon EV Max does not have a Dark Edition at this time.
