THIS IS HOW MAHINDRA SUV500 2020 HAS BEEN UPDATED!

Cars have been an aspirational segment in INDIA for quite a long time and continue to rule the roost, with the increasing purchase capability, hatchbacks and even compact sedans have become affordable for a large number of buyers, though SUV’s were still pricey.

India has seen the emergence of new styled SUV’s from that Mahindra is nearing the launch of its much-anticipated all New XUV500 series this year.The Indian carmaker will launch the second generation of the SUV and along with the new interior and features; it comes with all new design inside-out.

The next-gen XUV500 is expected to make its official debut at the upcoming Auto Expo and launch by mid-2020. Considering the handful of updates, expect it to be priced more than the current model which is priced from Rs 12.31 lakh to Rs 18.52 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The 2020 model of the XUV 500 has been spotted testing. This vehicle is bigger than the current generation. The testing mule was heavily masked and the car has bold lines which are characteristic of Mahindra cars. the overhang of the vehicle has also increased indicating that there will be a 7 seater version.soon.

Recently The New Upcoming XUV500’s Dashboard has a stylish and flat bottom steering wheel and a new layout had also been pictured. It has been shown this time around all three rows of seating by which it also gives us an idea of the space available.

It has a different cushioning and the front seats receive art leather upholstery. Looks wide as well supportive for thighs and back. Also the seats which are finished in art leather and all three passengers’ adjustable headrest.

The seats which are finished in beige and the cushioning are revised. The other thing is the legroom seems to be large enough to suit tall adults. With decent has space and individual headrest for 2 passengers, the third row seating was also revealed.

The new interior spy shots reveal that the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 will feature a completely redesigned dashboard layout; there will be large floating type infotainment touchscreen which is placed on the centre of the new dash, above the horizontal air-con vents. Also new will be a new, three spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel which will feature mounted controls for audio, cruise controls, etc. Previous Spy shots have shown a dual zone climate control, panoramic sunroof ventilated seats with driver seat getting memory function and more. The second row will have bench type seating set up.

On the outside, the all new Mahindra XUV500 will use new exterior such as automatic LED headlamps, LED tail lights, flush door handles which replace ‘Cheetah Claw’. While the XUV500 will borrow a lot of cues and styling from the Korando, the car will be a Mahindra in design. The Mahindra XUV500 will be based on the underpinning/platform of the SsangYong Korando. We expect the platform to be maxed to its limits for the new XUV500. The current generation is bigger in terms of every dimension – length, height, width and wheelbase than the XUV500. The car will be made with a lot bigger than the Korando which is smaller than even the current XUV500. We can expect bigger tyres and the chassis to be built in order to accommodate the third row and leave some room for the boot. Just go for this new amazing Mahindra XUV500 which is more comfortable and updated with a new design and stylish look.

2020 Mahindra XUV500 Specifications:

  • The 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will be the underdevelopment 2.0-litre engine that will come paired to a six-speed gearbox and a six-speed automatic.
  • The car is offered internationally with the option of two Euro 6 engines, an all-new 1.5 litre petrol GDI-turbo engine, and an updated 1.6 litre diesel engine.
  • An EV is planned to follow in due course.
  • Other than that, we might see 19-inch alloy wheels as the largest option available on the car and the option of a Micro-hybrid system which includes start-stop for traffic and a battery pack to keep functions like the AC at full power with the car’s engine not running.

NEW 2020 MAHINDRA XUV500 MILEAGE

Underpinning a new platform, the new XUV500 will be lighter, stiffer and more efficient than the current model. The new architecture along with the more powerful and BS6-ready diesel engine will improve fuel efficiency of the vehicle. While official figures will be revealed near its launch, it’s likely to deliver mileage between 15kmpl – 17kmpl. If the petrol version of the SUV will retain the existing powertrain, it will return fuel economy above 13kmpl.

As mentioned above, the 2020 XUV500 will sit on an all-new platform and continue to feature the monocoque-body frame. The same architecture will also be used in Ford’s upcoming new SUV. The vehicle’s new model might derive its design inspiration from the new-generation SsangYong Korando SUV that will debut at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show in March.

This SUV will carry an all-new design with unique styling bits giving it a more evolved and modern look. Dimensionally, the new 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will be bigger than the existing model.

With larger dimensions, the 2020 XUV500 will have more cabin room to offer. Mahindra might also pack the SUV with several segment-first features. However, the details are unknown to us. The new model will have better structure integrity and meet the future crash safety norms. It’s likely to get airbags, speed alert system, seat-belt reminders,manual override over the central locking system for emergencies and reverse parking sensors as standard fitments.

2020 Mahindra XUV500 Features:

  • Mahindra will plan to give it more safety features, a better infotainment system and also in keeping with the trend of connected cars like the Hyundai Venue and the MG Hector offer.

  • The Voice Assist feature will be very responsive and great on the car.
  • There will be more 8 airbags in the car including one for the third row and the driver’s knee.

Mahindra is about to give its XUV500 a generation change in 2020 and it is likely to introduce new 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines for the mid-size SUV. The first-gen XUV500 that is currently sold in India is available with the option of 2.2-litre petrol and diesel engines. And in the case of the first-gen model, both the petrol and diesel engines share the same engine block and feature turbocharging.

The company follows a similar strategy with the new 2.0-litre power plant as well. The new XUV500 is well designed and updated with new interior and exteriors.

Mahindra is gearing up to update the XUV500 for MY2020. The Indian automobile manufacturer has updated the car with a 7-seater layout along with an updated cabin design.

The SUV gets a central touchscreen infotainment unit which joins the fully digital instrument cluster. The instrument cluster also gets a central MID flanked by two analogue clusters. The air-conditioning vents have been repositioned below the infotainment system while the car also gets a new three-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel.

Variants and Prices: It is offered in six diesel variants with prices ranging between Rs 12.22 lakh and Rs 18.55 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).

The XUV500 takes on the likes of the jeep compass, Hyundai Tucson, Toyota Innova Crysta, MG Hector and the Tata Hexa. The next-gen XUV 500 will also rival the Tata Gravitas once it is launched in February 2020.
