The winners in the six categories are the Kia Niro (Urban Model), Jeep Avenger (Family SUV), Citroen C5 X (Large Vehicle), Nissan X-Trail (Big SUV), Audi RS 3 (Performance Car), and Ford Ranger (4×4).

Selection criteria for the 2023 World’s Best Women’s Automobile
The cars were evaluated on a number of criteria, including safety, driving, comfort, technology, design, efficiency, influence on the environment, and value for the money, according to the official statement from the WWCOTY organization. According to the group, an automobile buyer searches for five essential characteristics before making a purchase. The introduction of each model that was taken into consideration occurred in 2022.
Since cars are not gender-specific, the statement also makes it clear that none of the nominees is a “woman’s car” per se. The goal of the prize is to give female automobile industry employees a voice.
World Vehicle of the Year for Women in 2023: the jury
The Women’s World Vehicle of the Year jury is entirely made up of female automotive journalists, as the name implies. This year’s team consists of 63 women from 45 different nations across five continents, with Renuka Kirpalani, Executive Editor of The Autocar Show, serving as one of the esteemed jurors.
Three vehicles get the 2023 NACTOY Awards: the Acura Integra, Ford F-150 Lightning, and Kia EV6.
The winners of the 2023 North American Automobile, Truck, and Utility of the Year (NACTOY) awards have been announced. The Ford F-150 Lightning is named Best Truck, the Kia EV6 is named Best SUV, and the Acura Integra is named Best Automobile.
The nine finalists were revealed in November by the event’s organizers. The presentation was held in the M1 Concourse Event Center in Pontiac, Michigan, which is located north of Detroit.
The Nissan Z and the Genesis G80 EV went up against the Acura for the title of North American Car of the Year, putting a small five-door hatchback against a two-seat sports car and a substantial electric sedan. The Integra received 174 votes overall from the NACTOY jury, who commended its winning appearance and fun-to-drive personality.
The F-150 Lightning garnered 483 votes overall, handily defeating the Chevy Silverado ZR2 and Lordstown Endurance in the final round of voting for the truck category. The jurors chose it because they admired the F-150’s familiarity combined with electric prowess. Two Motor1.com Star Awards went to the F-150 Lightning for Best Truck and Best EV.
With the GV60, Genesis earned a second participation in the utility category’s championship round. Both the Cadillac Lyriq and the Kia EV6 made it to the finals, however, only the Kia received more votes (258 in total). Jurors praised the Kia’s winning aesthetics, powerful performance with the GT model, remarkable range, and simple charging.
It will only happen again in 2023 when an electric car is a finalist in each of the three categories. It’s also a new record to have six EVs fighting for the prizes.
There are 50 automotive journalists from the United States and Canada on the NACTOY jury. They begin with a list of brand-new or significantly revised vehicles every year. They narrow down this long list to a group of semi-finalists, and ultimately there are three models in each category who are competing for the prize.
The Honda Civic was named North American Automobile of the Year in 2022. The Bronco won North American Utility of the Year, while the Ford Maverick won North American Truck of the Year.

2023 Jeep Avenger Wins Brussels’ Annual Vehicle of the Year Award
A Jeep won the prestigious Automobile of the Year awards for the first time ever, which were presented on January 13 at the Brussels International Motor Show. The new Jeep Avenger electric SUV, which is sold in South Korea, Europe, and Japan, is the winner this year. North American consumers won’t be able to purchase it.
Moreover, Jeep’s first all-electric car is the Avenger. It made its debut in October of last year and has a single motor that produces 181 pound-feet (260 Newton-meters) of torque and 154 horsepower (115 kilowatts). Although a dual-motor Avenger is planned for an upcoming all-wheel-drive variant, it now only drives the front wheels. In the WLTP cycle, a 54-kWh battery has a range of 249 miles, however, in slower-speed urban environments, that range may be closer to 342 miles. Using a 100-kW connection, it can receive a quick charge that increases its range from 20 to 80 percent in 24 minutes.
The Avenger won Vehicle of the Year with 328 total votes, including 21 top votes from a jury of 57 people from 22 different European nations. The Volkswagen ID. Buzz was another contender, coming in second with 241 total votes and 16 best votes. For the second time in the awards’ history, the top three vehicles this year were all-electric, with the Nissan Ariya coming in third with 211 votes. The Renault Megane E-Tech Electric and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 came in second and third place, respectively, behind the overall winner of the previous year, the Kia EV6.
The Kia Niro, which placed internal combustion power in fourth place, was one of the 2023 award’s other contenders. The Peugeot 408, the Subaru Solterra/Toyota bZ4X twins, and the Renault Austral completed the field of seven finalists in that order.
The larger EV Recon will be available in North America, whereas Jeep has no plans to import the tiny Avenger here. A Wrangler Unlimited-sized four-door, Jeep emphasizes that it is not a Wrangler replacement, but its electric drivetrain will give it significant off-road performance. Later this year, more details regarding the 2024 Recon should be released.
