The Audi Q7 facelift will be launched in India in January, according to Audi. Since the start of the BS6 emission requirements in April 2020, the Audi Q7 has been missing from the German automaker’s India lineup. The Q7 will now make a comeback with a new exterior and interior style, a slew of new amenities, and a gasoline-only variant.

Audi Q7 External changes
In June 2019, the Q7 received a mid-life makeover that brought the outward and interior design closer to that of contemporary Audi SUVs. While the pre-facelift model’s estate-like appearance hasn’t changed much, the new Q7 has a lot more character and aggression thanks to the changes.
A bigger, octagonal single-frame grille up front, flanked by slimmer Matrix LED headlights with new LED DRL characteristics, are among the styling upgrades on the Q7 facelift. A sportier bumper with massive air dams on either side, an L-shaped air splitter, and beefier cladding is also included. A chrome strip runs between newly styled taillights at the rear of the Q7, giving the SUV a larger appearance. A new rear bumper is also available. It also has new alloy wheels and a beefier body covering on the sides.
Interior changes for the Audi Q7
The interior of the Q7 has gotten a lot better. Audi’s twin-touchscreen MMI infotainment system, which is also included in the larger Audi Q8, has been fully redesigned. It takes the place of the previous model’s single, free-standing screen.
The infotainment system features a 10.1-inch main screen and a smaller 8.6-inch climate control screen. It also features Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, which is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The Q7 was the first vehicle to feature the Virtual Cockpit system, and it has now been upgraded to the second-generation screen. The interior has a sense of minimalism and looks incredibly techy, with significantly fewer buttons. Piano black, chrome, and brushed aluminium accents complete the look.
The new Q7 comes with a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, a Bang and Olufsen sound system, an automatic tailgate, and an optional head-up display. A similar service might be given on the Q7 in India.
The Q7 will be available in a seven-seat configuration. Because there was insufficient space under the boot floor on the pre-facelift model, the full-size spare tyre was attached to one of the third-row seats, rendering the seat useless. Audi India had previously shown interest in fixing this issue with a space-saving folding tyre, which was finally addressed with the facelifted model.

Audi Q7 facelift Engine details
A 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine with 340 horsepower and 500Nm of peak torque is set to power the Q7 facelift. The engine is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission, with Audi’s Quattro AWD technology driving all four wheels. The engine also features a 48V mild-hybrid electrical system that enables up to 40 seconds of coasting with the motor turned off. In India, this engine is also available in the Q8 and A8. There was also a 252hp 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine on the pre-facelift Q7 in India, and the facelift could have the same engine. There is currently an Audi A6 with a 2.0-litre petrol engine in India, and the Q7 might have one as well.
While the pre-facelift model was also available with diesel engines in India, the new Q7 will be supplied only with petrol engines, sticking to Audi’s petrol-only product portfolio for the nation.
Along with the current A4, this iteration of the Q7 has been on the market since 2015, making it one of Audi’s oldest cars in India.
The new Audi Q7 will compete with Mercedes-GLE, Benz’s BMW’s X5, and Volvo’s XC90 when it is released. The Q7 will have an advantage over the Mercedes GLE and BMW X5, which are only 5-seater SUVs because it is a true seven-seater “as read and reported by www.autocarindia.com”.
