Kia Sonet has been an important point of discussion in India since it was first demonstrated at Auto Expo 2020 in February in conceptual form. The Sonet’s production version shows several parallels to the conceptual shape previously shown, and after generating a huge buzz around the car in India, Kia has finally introduced the SUV.
In India, the Kia Sonet SUV was introduced at 6.71 lakh in order to provide the entry level HTE with the 1.2-liter gasoline motor. On the other hand, Kia Sonet Turbo starts in €9.49 lakh, while in India the price of the Sonet model diesel starts in the €8.05 lakh. Ex showroom, India, are all costs. It is important to remember that these are initial rates and are likely to adjust in a few months ‘ time. Kia Sonet is India’s third sub-compact SUV that competes with the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Breeza, Tata Nexon, etc. While using the Hyundai Venue platform, Sonet has more space, particularly with respect to luggage space, than its Korean cousin. The SUV has many segment first features as well, making Sonet the country’s most characteristic compact SUV.

Kia Sonet: Design
Kia Sonet is distinguished by Tiger-nose grille, 3D stepwell geometric grille mesh, heartbeats-like LED headlamps, clamshell caps and flared wheel arches. The SUV also comes with split tail lights that include a heartbeat inspired LED signature and a light bar that links the tail lamps. The new SUV also features roof rails, 16-inch alloy wheels and skid plates on both rear and frontal bumpers.
Similar to Seltos, Sonet is also available in tech and GT. Sonet GT comes with a glossy Black Front Grid with red accents, GT Line emblem, red front and rear pushchairs with red accents, turbocharged front frame, chromium belt and rear skin diffuser-fin. The GT edition has a red wheel cap and a red front brake patch.
Kia Sonet: Features
Kia Sonet comes with a wide range of features, including a 10.25-inch top-end infotainment system, while the bottom eight-inch trimming, a 57-wheel drive UVO link suite, a fully digital computer screen, a ventilated front seat, a pneumatic pressure sensor, sound mood, the BOS sound system, air purified system with a Virus Safe health. In the category, SUV Kia Sonet is also the only one in various mode of traction (snow, mud and sand) and mode (normal, eco and sport).
Kia Sonet: Safety features
Kia Sonet‘s basic models include dual airbags on the front, ABS, EBD, reverse parking sensors, speed-warning system, driver seatbelt, etc. However, the top-end trim provides six airbags, electronic stability control, installation aids, vehicle stability monitoring, rear parking cameras, speed warning systems, etc.
Kia Sonet: Specs
Kia Sonet provides the option of 1.2-liter natural suction and 1.0-liter turbocharged engine as a petrol engine as well as a 1.5-liter diesel power generation. The 1.2-liter model produces 82 bhp with 115 nm of torque and is available with a manual 5-speed gearbox. On the other hand, Kia Sonet Turbo has a tap of 118 hp with 172 Nm and is available between the iMT gearbox and the 7-speed DCT transmission.
Dual variants of Kia Sonet diesel are available: WGT and VGT. Kia Sonet Diesel WGT is 99 bhp and 240 Nm and is supplied with only a six-speed manual transmission. Sonet diesel VGT produces 113 psi, 250 Nm, and is supplied in conjunction with an automatic transmission six-speed torque converter “as reported by timesnownews.com.”
