On Monday Maruti Suzuki announced a 1.9% rise in the price of its selected models. From 6 September 2021, the higher price of these models will come into force.
The carmaker said last month June 30, that due to rising production costs, it will raise the price of its selected passenger vehicles. This is followed up by the latest announcement. Maruti Suzuki has now raised her passenger vehicles’ prices for the third time in 2021.

Maruti Suzuki announced pricing increases for passenger vehicles earlier this year, in January and April, due to increasing input costs. The continuous increase in costs of raw materials led to a further price increase for India’s top vehicle brand.
Maruti Suzuki announced last month the price rise and stated, in a statement, that the costs of cars are still being negatively affected over the past year since various input costs have been rising. He added that the impact of the additional cost on the consumers through a price increase has become crucial.
Maruti Suzuki increased some of her car’s pricing by €334,000 in January 2021. Maruti Suzuki again upped their car prices by 1.6% in April. In April, The last price rise is just before the next holiday season. In addition to the continuing economic crisis, high fuel prices could have an impact on the sales of the carmaker in the festive season with an upward price of the automobiles.
Maruti Suzuki is not the only auto brand to raise their vehicle pricing. In the last month, the price of their passenger vehicles also grew, as did other car major companies such as Tata Motors, Honda Cars India, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, and Volkswagen India. Several carmakers increased the cost of two-wheelers in the two-wheeler category as well.
MSIL also recalled 1,81,754 units of five models on September 3, 2021. This recall included the Ciaz, Ertiga, Vitara Brezza, S-Cross, and XL6 models from its premium line. The recalled models were manufactured between the 4th of May, 2018 and the 27th of October, 2020. The models were recalled because of a problem with the Motor Generator Unit in the SHVS (Smart Hybrid) system. The automaker will begin replacing the part in November 2021, and customers are advised to avoid driving through waterlogged areas.

Furthermore, due to the global semi-conductor shortage, MSIL expects its vehicle production to be reduced to 40% of its normal capacity.
